Kharkiv IT Cluster signed Memorandum with Kharkiv National University of Economics
IT ClusterKharkiv IT Cluster signed Cooperation Memorandum with Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and became an associate partner of joint Master’s program in the field of Information Systems of Kharkiv National University of Economics and the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” called MASTIS.
Volodymyr Ponomarenko, being the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Economics and Andrii Marchenko, holding the position of the Vice-Rector of the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, made statements concerning the importance of MASTIS project, cooperation between higher education institutions and representatives of IT-business in the person of companies – members of Kharkiv IT Cluster. 17 Universities and 11 countries are involved into the mentioned project, launched by Erasmus+. Such establishments as Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics, the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Vinnytsia National University, Kherson State University and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will take part in the project in Ukraine. The main objective of MASTIS is to improve the Master’s program in the field of Information Systems that is to fit it to the needs of the European labor market of IT-industry and to learn to quickly respond to employers’ needs. The students will be issued a double Diploma with the partner University Lyon-2, relevant information on the management in the field of Information Systems and acquire practical skills in applying the gained knowledge when undertaking an obligatory six months internship in Europe. MASTIS promotes networking between Ukrainian and European students, professional development of teachers and implementation of modern teaching practices. Nataliia Vinohradska, Executive Director of Kharkiv IT Cluster, expressed the readiness of the organization to support initiatives of higher education institutions, relevant missions of the public union and promote the development of Kharkiv eco-system. Oleksandr Medovoi, the Head of the Supervisory Board and CEO of AltexSoft Company, stated on the intention of the Cluster to systematize cooperation projects with the higher education institution, which will affect the quality of training IT specialists and noted that participation in MASTIS project was a great opportunity to get to work immediately.
Dmytro Yakovlev, one of Cluster founders, SOO of VIDEAL Company, emphasized the fact that signing Memorandum with Kharkiv National University of Economics and other leading Universities of the City was a way to solve specific business problems and get such concrete results as increasing the level of knowledge of future employees, increasing the number of highly skilled professionals, who upon their employment would be easily assigned projects.
It is worth noting that our organization has already cooperated with Kharkiv National University of Economics. Some lectures and meetings were held at the premises of the University: we provided financial and organizational support of Regional Programming Olympics final 2016 and Hackathon 1654. Currently we are launching two joint projects. The first one is a course on Internet Marketing, developed by the experts from companies – members of the Cluster – Promodo, Webline Promotion, ART LEMON – and lecturers of the higher education institution. The synergy of the University and the public organization will help to create a relevant course, the graduates of which will be definitely demanded in the labor market, since every company needs a professional internet marketer today! The second project is a series of lectures for students and teachers focused on FinTech trends. The first lecture will take place on April, 18 at 03:50 p.m. The speaker will be Pavlo Kravchenko, an expert in cryptography and decentralized applications. At the lecture he will talk about crypto-currency and Bitcoin as well as reveal the essence of decentralized applications. The participants will learn about Bitcoin impact on the financial market and much more.
