Kharkiv IT Cluster Has Created a Center Of Law and Legal Support for the Local Companies
The support includes lawyers Dmitry Lazebny (law firm ILF), Roman Likhachev Dmitry Gadomskii (“Yuskutum”), Dmitriy Ovcharenko (STB Systems), Ilya Kryuchkov, and Ivanna Pogrebnyak, as well as journalists, deputies Yaroslav Markevich and Roman Semenuha, and military volunteers. Representatives of the Kharkiv IT Cluster, which now has 13 companies, urged everyone to unite and establish a common center of support and legal assistance.
In addition to support services for the affected, companies also plan to create a common nationwide call center among all regions. In fact, this will be the first synergy project of all Ukrainians IT clusters. The CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster, Stepan Veselovsky will give more information on Lviv IT Arena.
Recall the recent pressure from the law enforcement agencies on IT companies in Ukraine, which caused a major stir. The Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions suffered most of all. Law enforcement agencies have visited Plarium first, then Luxoft, and two days they searched in NIX Solutions and Intego Group offices.
After a few September episodes, the representatives of the higher echelons of power finally paid attention to the issue. A meeting of the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place on September 16, headed by Alexander Danchenko. The results of meeting are two decisions:
To hold a special meeting for business, law enforcement and regulatory agencies to develop a joint solution for the problem;
Companies provide the Committee with specific information about violations of the current legislation by officials of the security forces during the proceedings in the companies to take appropriate response measures.
A meeting of representatives of the IT-Community and the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Aivaras Abromavičius, took place on September 24th, initiated by the Ministry. It turned out that about 15 raids on technology companies were conducted for the year.
The next step in resolving the problem of searches should be a trilateral meeting, in which the IT-community, and the Ministry of Economic Development, the power unit, represented by Interior Minister, Arsen Avakov, will take part.
