IT Cluster IT Cluster

How to involve business, government and communities in the development of colleges? How to show that partnership is not a formality, but a real benefit for education and employers?

These questions were answered by participants in the all-Ukrainian webinar on stakeholder interaction, which was held on October 14 by the Kharkiv IT Cluster. The event brought together more than 500 representatives of 120 institutions of professional pre-higher education from 30 cities of Ukraine.

Not only IT colleges joined the discussion, but also technical, pedagogical, artistic, medical, agricultural and economic colleges – all those who are looking for practical ways for better education.

Key tips for educators

🔹 Partnership should be permanent, not from event to event, emphasized Iryna Shumik, Director General of the Directorate of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education and Science. The quality of education begins with trust and shared responsibility with employers.
🔹 Documents are not proof, results are important, — emphasized Natalia Vitranyuk from the State Service for the Quality of Education. Business participation in reviewing programs, internships, focus groups, student surveys are real indicators of interaction.
🔹 The triangle «education – business – community» is the key to the development of the region, noted Oksana Ivanyuta from the Department of Science and Education of the Higher Education Institution of Ukraine. Dual programs, employer councils and joint educational initiatives work best.
🔹 Business needs simple cooperation mechanisms, — emphasized Oleksiy Rubel from NIX. Companies are ready to invest in education if communication is fast and transparent.
🔹 Partnership motivates students, — shared the experience of Diana Dovhan from Vinnytsia Technical College. When employers are involved in training, students see the practical value of their knowledge.
🔹 Show your business your own value, advises Oleksandr Ignatenko from the Kharkiv Computer and Technology Vocational College. Successful cooperation begins not with a request for help, but with an offer of mutual benefit.

What does the survey show?

According to the results of an interactive survey of participants:

  • the most common forms of cooperation are guest lectures, teacher internships and industrial practice;
  • priorities for the future are student internships, advanced training of teachers and joint development of educational programs.

Educators strive to move from formal memoranda to real cooperation, which gives results for students, teachers and employers.
