SoftServe has entered the finals of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine Award in the Economic Development nomination

On December 19, the Company was given special recognition within the Partnership for Sustainability Award 2019, an international project competition aimed at achieving the UN’s goal 17: Partnership for Sustainable Development.

The competition was initiated by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine local network. This year organizers received more than 80 cases from Ukraine, Poland, Belarus and Georgia. Among the jury members were Carlo Pereira – Executive Director of the Global Compact Network in Brazil, Antonio Hutle – Executive Director of the Global Compact Network in Switzerland, Salma Budina – Global Compact Network in Morocco, Hugo von Mayenfeldt – Executive Director of the Networge Gondolaer.

SoftServe with its project “IT-education in Ukraine development” has reached the final of the competition in the nomination “Economic development”.

The aim of the project is to improve and develop IT education in Ukraine, to promote positive transformations in IT education in schools and universities in order to meet current technological trends and be competitive in the world market.

SoftServe joins projects aimed at developing education both financially and pro bono. The company provides universities with the computer equipment, opens and repairs laboratories, gives scholarships to the best students etc. The company employees join the teaching staff of universities, work together on new educational IT-programs developing, become mentors both within the educational institutions’ staff and take part in student conferences, hackathons and meetups.

As part of the project for 2018-2019, the company transferred 700 items of computer equipment to schools and universities, conducted 150+ educational IT events annually, created 4 university programs, founded 5 technology laboratories, 250+ students have attended SoftServe educational events with a  90% discount.

SoftServe’s educational solutions are in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 4 and are designed to promote the most up-to-date functional and cross-functional company’s employees competencies.
