On 21th January, 2020, leaders of Ukrainian IT companies will participate in the panel discussion “Will Technologies Save the World?” at the World Economic Forum in Davos within Ukraine House Davos initiative. As a part of the delegation organised and managed by IT Ukraine Association, Kharkiv IT Cluster and its members Radmirtech and Beetroot will join the discussion.

The theme for 2020 Forum is sustainable development, under the slogan “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World”. This topic is extremely relevant for Ukraine: IT services are the second largest in the Ukrainian export services overall, and the industry is growing by + 26% annually. At present, there are 4000 tech companies and more than 185 thousands IT specialists in our country.

According to Kharkiv IT Research 2.0. performed by Kharkiv IT Cluster and PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2019, Kharkiv is the ahead of all Ukrainian cities, except Kyiv, by the number of IT companies and specialists, and is on the same level with the capital as for the density of IT specialists. In 2018 Kharkiv IT companies brought 6.4 billion grivnas to the state budget as tax payments in comparison to 5 bln of the previous year. 45% of them went to the local budget of the region.

Those are the reasons why Kharkiv IT Cluster supports IT Ukraine within Ukraine House Davos national initiative and proud to be a part of the delegation which will represent IT Industry of Ukraine and Kharkiv region particularly at the World Economic Forum.
