IT ClusterRepresentatives of Kharkiv IT Cluster attended a presentation of the office of Kharkiv Region in Washington City, which was held in the Kharkiv Chamber of Commerce. Yuliia Svetlychna, Deputy Chairman of the Kharkiv Chamber of Commerce, opened the round table. She said: “Within the framework of the present initiative, we have already successfully implemented several projects and invite everyone for cooperation! Opening the office in Washington City – is only the first step for the further development of trade relations of Kharkiv Region with the whole world”.
Dmytro Shuval, Head of Regional Development Agency «Globee» – a non-profit non-governmental organization dealing with the office – said that their main goal was the development and popularization of Kharkiv as a brand at the international level. Kharkiv IT Cluster sees here a platform for cooperation, since our organization strives to perform the mission. An important issue in the plans of the office is the creation of IT-accelerator for the development of innovative projects, fast-growing in the US market. The work in this direction shall integrate business, science and innovation, which also meets the vision of Kharkiv IT Cluster.
This is a non-inclusive list of our common interests. Shai Franklin, a well-known lobbyist managing the work of the office of Kharkiv Region in Washington City, mentioned the way, he would like to participate in the development of IT / Innovation sphere in Ukraine, namely:
- promote cooperation of Kharkiv IT-companies with US government funds;
- assist in the search for American and Ukrainian investors;
- work towards the establishment of long-term relations between US IT-companies and Ukrainian outsourcers.
Today the office of Kharkiv Region in Washington City can provide assistance in “Americanization” of web-sites and promotional materials of Ukrainian businessmen. What this means is proofreading and adapting them for American audiences. Office staff is also ready to participate in the organization of business tours. Most importantly is that they are going to lobby the interests of Kharkiv Region in the US Congress.
Representatives and directors of such companies as AltexSoft, INSART, MaxNet, ON AIR, Sloboda Studio, VERNA, VIDEAL and X1 Group participated in today’s round table from the side of Kharkiv IT Cluster. Our participants expressed interest in the development of partnership with the new office. We believe that in the near future you will be able to see the first results of the cooperation between the two organizations.
