The declaration will be the first step to intensify cooperation between countries in the field of digitalization. It will also facilitate the exchange of experiences for effective dialogue between the parties. To this end, in 2021 parallel Digital Days - an event designed to promote the development of digitalization and demonstrate its positive impact on public life — will be held in several European countries. The digitalswitzerland will coordinate all these activities.
The Swiss Digital Days initiative was launched three years ago in Switzerland to promote public dialogue on digitalization. The organizers — the digitalswitzerland initiative — aimed to make digitization accessible and understandable to the general public. The popularity of Swiss Digital Days is only growing every year: in 2019 alone, the event was attended by ambassadors from more than 20 countries. Poland, Liechtenstein and Germany are already holding their own Digital Days, following the example of Switzerland. In 2021, the IT Ukraine Association plans to launch Digital Days together with partners in Ukraine.
Marс Walder, founder of digitalswitzerland, said: "I am very pleased that other countries and governments are adopting the idea of this kind of Digital Day. Such transnational interest groups, which pursue the same goals, make Europe stronger as a digital location. And we have a lot of catching up to do. The cooperative exchange between as many countries as possible is crucial for this. For autumn 2021, we are planning Europe-wide Digital Days that will take place simultaneously."
Digital Days will also unite Ukrainian public organizations, cultural and scientific institutions, business and state institutions. The event will provide an effective platform for highlighting various aspects of digitalization, discussing opportunities and challenges, and launching social dialogue.
Kostiantyn Vasyuk, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association: “The life of every developed country is connected with the rapid development of technologies and digitalization. We are lucky to become digital partners of Switzerland in Ukraine, so we hope to hold digitalization days in Ukraine in 2021. This will help us strengthen cooperation in the field of information technology with a number of developed European countries, share experiences and make digitalization more understandable and accessible to Ukrainians step by step”.
