In the spring of 2026, the final stages of the Robotics Hackathon took place. The project was organized by GlobalLogic, a member of Kharkiv IT Cluster, in partnership with Lviv Polytechnic National University, providing students with an opportunity to work on robotic manipulator solutions.

The final meetings and project presentations were hosted at the facilities of SiTime and GlobalLogic.

The five-week hackathon brought together around 30 engineering students, with 15 participants advancing to the finals. The teams worked on implementing solutions for a robotic manipulator and performing pick-and-place operations. 5 projects were presented during the final stage.

Winners were selected based on the quality of implementation, system stability, and engineering approach. The winning team received an opportunity to complete an internship at GlobalLogic, while the best individual participants were invited to join the company.

"We have been organizing the Robotics Hackathon together with Lviv Polytechnic for the second consecutive year. Around 20% of our consultants in Ukraine are graduates of this university, which remains our leading source of training specialists every year. Initiatives like this provide students with practical experience and valuable feedback," said Ihor Kostiv, Vice President of GlobalLogic.

GlobalLogic has been collaborating with Lviv Polytechnic since 2018. During this time, the partners have implemented educational courses, practical training programs, and R&D projects. Recently, the company received the "Benefactor of the Year" award from Lviv Polytechnic National University for its support of education and science in Ukraine.

The university emphasizes that participation in such initiatives helps students develop professional competencies and prepares them for real-world engineering challenges. "Our goal is to ensure that students gain as much practical experience as possible during their studies. Joint activities with leading Ukrainian IT companies contribute significantly to this objective. Over the years, student interest in such initiatives has continued to grow, and we often see them become the starting point of successful careers," commented Mykola Lohoida, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Development at Lviv Polytechnic National University.

"GlobalLogic has been systematically collaborating with universities across Ukraine. Over the past five years, the company has launched nine joint educational programs, opened six training laboratories, and engaged more than 300 students in educational initiatives. Overall, more than 25,000 students have participated in the company's hackathons and collaborative events," concluded Ihor Kostiv, Vice President of GlobalLogic.
