Kharkiv IT Cluster Presents Its Projects at an Enterprise Europe Network Meeting

Kharkiv IT Cluster develops projects in cooperation with European partners to help Ukrainian companies find business partners in Europe, identify promising areas for technological cooperation, and implement digital solutions.

On 13–14 October, Kharkiv IT Cluster presented these projects at a meeting of the Digital Sector Group of the Enterprise Europe Network in Sofia, Bulgaria. Participants exchanged experience and presented opportunities for cooperation in the digital sector.

Here, we highlight three Kharkiv IT Cluster projects developed in cooperation with the EU and the opportunities they offer businesses.

EEN-Ukraine: Finding International Partners

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is an international network supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. It brings together more than 600 organisations across 66 countries and helps companies find partners, develop innovations, and access new markets.

Kharkiv IT Cluster is the only Ukrainian technology organisation in the EEN-Ukraine consortium. Through its participation in the network, Kharkiv IT Cluster helps tech companies find international partners, participate in B2B meetings and business delegations, and receive consultations on entering new markets.

In addition, Kharkiv IT Cluster participates in six EEN sector groups: Digital, Internationalisation, Startups and Scaleups, Sustainability, Aerospace and Defence, and Agro. These groups provide opportunities to exchange industry expertise and build connections with organisations and companies across different countries.

ITBridge: Connecting the Ukrainian IT Sector with the EU

ITBridge is a project that connects the Ukrainian and European tech sectors. It brings together Ukrainian IT clusters — Kharkiv IT Cluster, Odesa IT Family, and IT Dnipro Community — as well as European partners Transilvania IT Cluster and Digital Cluster of Catalonia.

Together, we strengthen business connections, integrate Ukrainian IT companies into European digital markets, and support digital transformation in both regions.

To identify promising areas for cooperation between the Ukrainian IT sector and Europe, we worked with our partners to prepare the EU-Ukraine Digital Sector Interlinkages Report as part of the project.

The team examined 14 critical technology dependencies in the EU and mapped them against the expertise of Ukraine’s IT sector. The result identified nine areas in which Ukrainian companies have strong expertise and potential for cooperation with European partners.

These include artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, Big Data and analytics, IoT, robotics, business process automation, unmanned vehicles, and web platforms and applications.

The report helps Ukrainian companies understand where their expertise is in demand in Europe and identify promising areas for international partnerships.

Eastern Ukraine EDIH: Digital Solutions for Businesses and Communities

Eastern Ukraine EDIH is a European Digital Innovation Hub that helps businesses, communities, and public sector organisations identify their needs and implement digital solutions. Kharkiv IT Cluster serves as the hub’s implementation coordinator.

Together with our consortium partners, we help businesses identify their needs, find the right support, and move towards implementing digital solutions.

The consortium partners are the Ukrainian Science and Technology Center; the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”; Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics; the Kharkiv Reform Office municipal institution; and the Cyber Diia platform.

Through the hub, businesses can test technologies before investing, develop their teams’ digital skills, and receive assistance in finding funding.
