Company effectiveness is measured in numbers: profit, number of projects, speed of task execution. But in reality, something else almost always wins — the quality of human relationships.
Still, why do some businesses become stories of rapid growth, while others turn into examples of missed opportunities?
The answer lies in the principles on which a company’s culture is built. A telling example is onPoint Studio, which started as one freelancer’s decision “not to carry everything alone.”
Who is onPoint Studio?
In 2020, Oleksii, CEO of onPoint Studio, was working as a freelancer. Requests were growing, tasks were becoming more complex, and the strategic step was to assemble a team and build a studio.
The company launched during the pandemic, immediately with a clear focus: helping businesses grow through the development, support, and improvement of websites, eCommerce, and educational platforms.
“Our mission is business growth through long-term, open, and honest relationships focused on clients’ needs and expectations. We are convinced that the true value of collaboration lies in transparent interaction based on care and humanity,” onPoint Studio emphasizes.
This is exactly how their approach to work manifests: how they maintain quality, navigate force majeure situations, build trust with clients, and do not lose their humanity within deadlines.
Over time, this experience formed the principles on which the team’s work stands today. Here are six of them — the ones onPoint considers the foundation of an effective company.
Principle 1. The Team Is Not a Resource, but a Pillar
Culture is best reflected not in words, but in situations when nothing goes according to plan.
onPoint had a case that became a marker of the team’s maturity.
onPoint Studio were finishing a fairly large project, and everyone had their own area of responsibility. The deadline was strict, and everything was planned almost down to the minute. But a force majeure occurred: one of the key developers got into an accident and ended up in the hospital. From the perspective of project success, it could have been the end, since there were not enough resources at the time to replace this person and still make it on time. At that moment, it seemed everything would collapse.
But that was when colleagues stepped in. No one had to be asked — everyone offered help on their own and was ready to work more to complete the project on time and with quality. The tasks left without an owner were divided among the team members — and as a result, the project was successfully completed. The client was satisfied, the developer recovered, and the team showed its best side in a difficult time.
“In reality, good relationships within the team and mutual support are the foundation of successful project delivery. Of course, all processes are coordinated and planned. But force majeure situations happen, and it is in such moments that you realize how great it is to have a team of friendly people, professionals who are able to step in and help,” onPoint Studio shared.
Principle 2. Human-Centeredness Is Built Daily
When people talk about human-centeredness in companies, it often sounds like an abstract value. In reality, it manifests in very concrete things — in the qualities that are valued in people and gradually shape the culture of the entire organization.
First of all, it is about responsibility — when a person takes on not only the execution of a task, but responsibility for its result. Open communication is equally important: the ability to hear one another, reach agreements, and build trust with clients.
Another key trait is flexibility. New challenges constantly arise in work, so the ability to adapt and look for alternative approaches is part of the culture. The same goes for proactivity — when people do not wait for instructions but propose solutions.
And, of course, attention to detail — what allows maintaining a high quality standard in every project.
A strong culture is when everyone understands not only what they do, but also how and why.
Principle 3. Values Matter Only When They Hold in Crisis
onPoint’s values were formed from the very first core of the Kharkiv office. They review them every year during a start session, but fundamentally have not changed them — even after transitioning to full remote.
Here are three key pillars:
1. Commitment and Engagement
The team is engaged 100% — from the first call to the final handover. Client success is perceived as their own.
2. Ownership and Responsibility
Everyone is responsible for their role and result. This orients the team primarily toward quality and discipline in commitments.
3. Transparency and Trust
Trust at onPoint is built through open communication — with clients and partners, as well as within the company. It is important not only to talk about problems, but to come with solutions and take responsibility for their implementation.
Respect is named as the foundation of interaction at onPoint Studio: the company does not accept discrimination based on skin color, gender, religion, or any other characteristics. It is important that everyone has the opportunity to be heard — because the strongest solutions are born from diverse opinions and open dialogue.
Principle 4. Resilience and Adaptability Drive Growth
The story of onPoint is a series of the impossible becoming possible thanks to people:
- launch during COVID;
- full-scale war and the need to transition completely to remote;
- growth from a small team with one PM to two teams;
- a risk period when one client generated over 70% of revenue — and the need to rebuild sales.
The sales story is particularly illustrative: at first, they did it intuitively, made mistakes, lost opportunities, learned through practice — and only over time did experience, structure, and manageability emerge.
“Honestly, we are still moving through trial and error. We test hypotheses, analyze, adjust our approach. There is still a lot to build, but we already have understanding, resources, and a plan. You just need to try, make mistakes, adjust, and keep moving forward,” the team shared.
Principle 5. Growth Only Matters If You Keep Your Humanity
When asked what is important to preserve in the future regardless of scale, onPoint’s answer is very clear:
Humanity, honesty, and openness.
These are the three anchors that prevent growth from turning into a “conveyor,” where business goals consume people and processes consume meaning.
“In my opinion, what has become possible did so thanks to people. When people are passive and do not want to act — nothing works. But if there is initiative: ‘Hey, let’s go to the mountains!’ — even if the path is difficult, you will eventually reach the top. The same applies to a company: there is nothing physically impossible. Everything is possible if you notice the opportunity and take small steps toward it. Sooner or later, we will get there,” adds Alex, CEO of onPoint Studio.
Principle 6. Trust Makes Collaboration Real
The sixth principle is the result of all the previous ones that the team cultivates every day: supporting one another, taking responsibility for results, attention to detail, transparency, and humanity.
“We build trust through open and transparent communication with clients, partners, and within the team. Openness is the foundation of our relationships,” the team shares.
Everything built on onPoint Studio’s principles converges into trust: it is what gives the team the freedom to act, propose solutions, and support one another. This is not only about internal relationships, but also about openness with clients: speaking honestly about challenges, coming with solutions, and finding the best path together.
Who Is onPoint Studio Looking For?
Today, onPoint Studio is looking for talented WordPress developers. But for them, the ideal candidate is not only about technical expertise.
They resonate with people who:
- enjoy their work and grow because they are curious;

- take responsibility and support the team;
- have warmth, humor, and openness to new things;
- are not afraid to experiment for a better result;
- want to influence the company’s development, not just execute tasks.
“We combine efforts, create synergy, and from this mutual support our shared direction and forward movement are born.”
