Kharkiv IT Cluster successfully completed Export Alliance Mastery by Visionest Institute (Estonia) — a free program for business support organizations. It helps improve consulting skills, develop strategic thinking, and support companies in entering international markets more effectively.
The program lasted about a year and laid the foundation for Kharkiv IT Cluster’s export service.
Stage 1: from Theory to First Results in Companies
It all started with diving into theory: market analysis, export strategy development, localization, branding and storytelling, logistics, competitive analysis. But theory quickly turned into practice. We worked with real cases from seven IT companies in our community (CHM Software, ITUA, Raccoon Gang, SDA, SevenPro, Veramed, Webspark), tested approaches, verified hypotheses, and found solutions that deliver results.
The Cluster team achieved the best results among ten Ukrainian BSOs (Business Support Organizations) participating in the program. But the most important thing is not the rankings — it’s about people:
"It’s incredible! We live through our products and often conduct similar research, but usually focus on specific cases and don’t pay enough attention to the big picture. If I had seen such research before joining the community — everything else would have been secondary. I just want to put everything aside and start implementing new solutions," — shares Marharyta Kuprytsiuk, CEO of ITUA.
Stage 2: Strategy for Entering the Global Market
Under the guidance of Visionest Institute mentors, we developed an export strategy for US market entry for companies working in dual-use technologies.
In just 2.5 months, our team analyzed dozens of states, built a model for establishing connections, and formed a vision for partnerships and opportunities. Most importantly, we realized that entering the global market doesn’t start with big budgets, but with precise analytics, clear positioning, and team synergy.
The program has ended, but for us, this is just the beginning of implementing the strategy together with community companies.
Birth of the Think Tank for Global Sales & Export Promotion
Thanks to the program, Kharkiv IT Cluster created the Think Tank for Global Sales & Export Promotion — a platform where strategies for the global breakthrough of Ukrainian tech companies are born. This is a free export service of Kharkiv IT Cluster that already helps businesses to:
- identify promising markets that fit their product and business model;
- build a market entry strategy and set priorities correctly;
- adapt products and communications to local specifics;
- present the company to potential clients and partners;
- take the first sales steps through business missions and global networking.
