A member of Kharkiv IT Cluster, GlobalLogic, has introduced an innovative AI-powered tool called Test Automation Kit (TAK). The solution is designed to address pressing quality assurance challenges in the industry and demonstrate the capabilities of Agentic AI in the telecommunications sector.

The new framework automatically converts software requirements written in natural language into ready-to-use tests that can continuously improve themselves. TAK can be used with any type of software. GlobalLogic has currently adapted it for next-generation equipment, including broadband connectivity and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA).

Broadband networks are evolving rapidly to support next-generation technologies such as Wi-Fi 7 and 5G FWA. As a result, telecom operators are under pressure to release software updates much faster. However, traditional testing approaches are slow, complex, and require constant maintenance. This makes it difficult for engineering teams to keep pace with the rapid development cycle.

TAK has been implemented to test both fixed broadband equipment (cable and fiber-optic routers) and 5G FWA technology, which provides wireless connectivity through 5G modems and is becoming an alternative to fiber-optic internet. Powered by AI agents, the platform transforms these tasks into ready-to-use, validated test scripts in Python.

Key capabilities of the Test Automation Kit:

  • Accessibility of automation: TAK reduces reliance on highly specialized customer premises equipment (CPE — routers, 5G modems, etc.) automation skills. QA engineers, developers, and product managers can now describe tests in natural language, while the system generates validated Python scripts.
  • From idea to test in minutes: The tool automates complex and edge-case scenarios significantly faster than traditional approaches. This helps expand test coverage and accelerate time-to-market for products.
  • Lower maintenance costs: If an equipment interface, API, or internal logic changes, AI agents independently generate new scenarios and/or adapt existing ones. As a result, teams no longer need to update tests manually.
  • Intelligent CI diagnostics: TAK analyzes automated test results and investigates failures. By utilizing a system of multiple interconnected AI agents, the tool pinpoints root causes with greater accuracy, enabling engineers to move faster from raw logs to actionable solutions.

“Traditional QA automation struggles to keep pace with the speed and complexity of modern platform development. Teams spend far too much time constantly maintaining and updating test scenarios. Our Test Automation Kit automatically prepares test scripts, executes them, analyzes feedback, adapts, and improves in real time,” notes Oleksii Turchyn, Vice President of Engineering at GlobalLogic. “We help engineers bridge the gap from idea to automated testing as quickly and efficiently as possible, allowing them to focus on business requirements and development instead of routine checks.”

Integration into the RDK Ecosystem

TAK also demonstrates how GlobalLogic brings emerging AI technologies to the RDK community. RDK (Reference Design Kit) is an open-source software platform that serves as a global industry standard for telecom operators, unifying home routers, set-top boxes, and 5G devices.

The RDK community brings together over 700 companies, including hardware manufacturers, chipset vendors, software developers, system integrators, and service providers. Globally, RDK is deployed on more than 200 million devices across North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

GlobalLogic holds Preferred Plus Member status within the RDK community and leverages its engineering expertise to assist operators with software development, integration, and testing for the RDK-B platform.

“GlobalLogic is well known for its advanced developments in artificial intelligence, particularly in automated diagnostics and complex engineering solutions. We look forward to their continued leadership,” emphasized Jason Briggs, President of RDK Management.
