What activities are covered by the Ukraine-Ready4EU project?
The Ukraine-Ready4EU project, funded by the European Commission under the Business Bridge initiative, aims to support Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their integration into the EU Single Market. Each participant in the program can receive financial assistance of up to 2,500 euros to cover external expenses related to the implementation of specific activities. In this article, we will explore what expenses the grant covers.
What activities are covered by the grant?
The program offers support for five key types of activities that help Ukrainian companies adapt to the European market:
Type 1: Active participation in business meetings at official events, exhibitions, company missions, or brokerage events in the EU.
The grant can cover expenses related to attending events where Ukrainian companies can meet potential partners, showcase their products and services, and expand international contacts. Covered expenses may include:
- Travel and accommodation costs (in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, without first-class travel or rooms more expensive than 160 euros per night).
- Rental of exhibition stands, design services, and equipment rental.
- Organizational and registration fees, tickets for specialized exhibitions.
- Transport of product samples and promotional materials.
- Payment for translation services during events.
Type 2: External support for meeting sustainability, digitalization, and resilience requirements of the EU economy.
This area supports external audits and consulting on compliance with sustainability, digitalization, and resilience standards, which are essential for integration into the European market. Covered expenses include:
- Payment for external audits on energy efficiency, environmental standards, digitalization, and resilience.
- Consultations with experts on certification processes and preparing the necessary documentation.
Type 3: Expertise and product certification for compliance with the EU Single Market.
Companies can receive financial support for certifying their products or services in accordance with European standards, enabling them to enter the EU market. Covered expenses include:
- Payment for external experts to prepare for certification.
- Costs for obtaining certificates and submitting applications to relevant organizations.
Type 4: External support for fulfilling EU customs, export-import, and other formal requirements.
To facilitate entry into the EU market, enterprises can access funding to cover expenses related to customs procedures, export-import formalities, and other regulatory requirements for operating in the EU. Covered expenses include:
- Preparation of customs documents and customs brokerage services.
- Certification and legalization of commercial documents.
Type 5: External support for patenting and licensing.
The project also supports obtaining intellectual property rights in the EU, including patents, trademarks, and licenses. Covered expenses include:
- Applications for patents, trademarks, and licenses in the EU.
