Update: IT is the only industry to grow in 2022 in Ukraine
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, in 2022, the Ukrainian economy received $7.34 billion in foreign exchange earnings thanks to the IT sector. If we compare the volume of exports with the pre-war year 2021, this figure has increased by $400 million.
As of January 1, 2023, the amount of taxes and fees paid by the IT business to the consolidated budget is 32.2 billion UAH, which is 4.4 billion UAH more than last year. The number of individual entrepreneurs paying taxpayers for IT-KVED also increased.
“The IT business continues to grow, which enables it to support the economy and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, create new jobs on the labor market and implement humanitarian initiatives. Ukrainian IT, with all its actions, makes our Victory even closer.
The companies of the export IT sector created the most secure conditions for their employees to support uninterrupted work, so the indicators we see at the end of the year were expected. Ukrainian IT business continues to grow and develop, no matter what. Blackouts, communication problems did not become an obstacle.
For the first time in the entire history of Ukrainian IT, the export of computer services exceeded seven billion dollars. This number is made more unique by the fact that the record result was achieved during the war.”
