UN calls to participate in innovative social projects

Kharkiv IT Cluster, with the support of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, organized a meeting of IT- students & IT-specialists with representatives of the United Nations in Ukraine. The purposes of the meeting are to raise awareness of young people about the activities of organization, and to encourage IT-specialists to participate in innovational  social projects.

Van Nguyen, director of the Office of the Coordinator of the UN system, made a presentation on the Millennium sustainable development, but also introduced the existing UN programs in the country and in Kharkiv. Wang announced results of the survey “Youth 2015” and called on audience to reach their potential through projects of the organization.

After a general information on the role of Ukraine in the UN, Wojtek Hledik, UN Volunteers Program Coordinator, spoke about the IT-direction of the volunteer movement. He demonstrated how innovative solutions to social problems improved the life of society on the example of Moldova, Macedonia, Azerbaijan and Belarus. Representatives of the United Nations also met with NURE’s rector Eduard Rubin, and discussed with him the prospects of cooperation of the university and the UN.

Kharkiv IT Cluster thank all participants and hopes to see innovative social projects in Ukraine.
