Ukrainian IT Without Borders: IT Connect UA Launches

IT Cluster IT Cluster

The educational project IT Connect UA has officially launched in Ukraine. Over 1,300 Ukrainians—selected from over 3,000 applicants—have begun free training in JavaScript, .NET, Java, DevOps, and Software Testing.

For the first time, a national initiative brings together Ukrainians from across the country and the diaspora to study side by side, forming a unique community united by a shared goal.

“This project is about unity in action. We want every Ukrainian, no matter the circumstances or their location, to have the opportunity to contribute to building a strong, modern Ukraine—through education, through IT, through supporting national businesses.” Ilona Havronska, Deputy Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of National Unity for Digital Development, Transformation, and Digitalization.

Training has begun for those who passed the English and technical screening tests. Depending on the course, participants now face an intensive program lasting 8 to 19 weeks. Next comes mentoring, certification, and interviews with companies. As early as this summer, the first graduates will be ready to join Ukrainian IT teams.

“Initiatives like IT Connect UA are key to the systemic development of our tech ecosystem. They help people find their path in IT and help businesses grow, scale, and attract investment through strong human capital.” Diana Rakus, Investment Attraction Project Lead at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Why does it matter for business?

IT Connect UA answers a growing demand for skilled junior specialists in Ukraine’s tech industry. Partner companies gain:

  • Access to a pool of pre-selected, motivated candidates
  • Opportunities for remote collaboration, regardless of location
  • Stronger HR branding through participation in a nationwide project
  • A tangible contribution to stabilizing the job market amid talent outflows

“IT Connect UA doesn’t just help businesses find talent—it helps them shape it. It’s an investment in people who could become your team members tomorrow.”
Denys Hryniov, Head of EPAM Campus

The project unites participants from Ukraine and the diaspora: Kharkiv, Kyiv, Warsaw, Munich, and beyond. They’re committed to working in Ukrainian IT, and companies now have the chance to bring them on board.

“IT Connect UA means having the opportunity to work in Ukrainian IT, whether you’re living in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Warsaw, or Lisbon. We’ve opened the door for Ukrainian talent to access free education and future job opportunities, helping grow Ukraine’s tech ecosystem on a global scale,” Olga Shapoval, Executive Director, Kharkiv IT Cluster

IT Connect UA is about people who want to work in Ukrainian IT, and companies ready to give them that chance.

This is just the first wave of the project. It already includes partner companies such as WebMeridian, ProArea, Chainza, Intellias, ITRDev, CHM Software, ProfITsoft, iDev Agency, and CLOUD WORKS.
