Ukraine-Ready4EU: How to Get Funding for Private Entrepreneurs to Enter the EU Market?
IT ClusterUkraine-Ready4EU opens new opportunities for Ukrainian entrepreneurs, facilitating their entry into the EU market. Within the project, a grant of €2,500 is available to support strategic activities in the Single Market. While the primary focus is on small and medium-sized businesses, private entrepreneurs (PE) also have significant development opportunities.
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
Private entrepreneurs have the opportunity to receive funding for one of the following initiatives:
- Business Meetings and International Events
The grant covers transportation expenses, registration fees, and participation costs in international events to establish partnerships and attract clients.
- Integration of Sustainability Standards and Digital Technologies
Financial support is provided for developing and implementing environmental standards, automating business processes, and utilizing modern IT solutions and software.
- Product Certification
The grant can cover expenses for obtaining certificates of compliance with European requirements, and facilitating product entry into the EU market.
- Customs and Export Procedures
Entrepreneurs can benefit from expert consultations, improve logistics operations, and align their documentation with European standards.
- Patenting and Licensing
The grant covers costs associated with patenting inventions and obtaining the necessary licenses for entry into the European market. This helps protect intellectual property and ensure legal security for businesses.
Important Conditions for Private Entrepreneurs
The grant conditions for private entrepreneurs are similar to those for limited liability companies; however, specific provisions apply to private entrepreneurs:
- Your business must have been operational for at least 6-12 months, demonstrating stability and increasing the likelihood of a successful application.
- Activities must be carried out personally by the private entrepreneurs. All expenses must be paid from the PE’s business account or personal bank card.
- Expense reimbursement is processed through a bank transfer to the private entrepreneur’s account.
- If a travel agency is involved in organizing and conducting events, a detailed contract specifying all services must be prepared. Invoices should clearly outline the provided services as listed in the contract.
How to Join the Project?
A step-by-step guide has been developed for private entrepreneurs who wish to participate:
- Review the Guidelines for Applicants to learn all the details of the program.
- Consult with a Kharkiv IT Cluster curator if your company is part of our community. This will help you understand the application process and reporting requirements tailored to private entrepreneurs.
- Plan your activities within three months from the start date and estimate the expected expenses (the amount should be at least €2,500; higher expenses are allowed, but only the grant amount will be reimbursed).
- Prepare and submit all required application documents for review by the Kharkiv IT Cluster curator if you are a community member.
- Register your application on the official website and wait for approval from the selection committee.
- Upon approval, you will receive a confirmation email. After that, sign a contract with the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- After completing all planned activities, prepare a detailed report, including photos, a list of meetings and signed contracts, outcome descriptions, next steps, and scanned copies of receipts or tickets confirming expenses. Upload this report to the designated platform.
