The Meeting of Kharkiv IT Cluster with Representatives of the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine
“How to reintroduce flight to Vienna from Kharkiv?” was one of the questions, the answer to which looked for the members of Kharkiv IT Cluster at the meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine, Ms. Hermine Poppeller Her visit was dedicated to the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Austria in Kharkiv City.
Roundtable with the members of Kharkiv IT Cluster took place on the 27th of May. Corporate members of the Cluster as well as invited IT-businessmen talked with representatives of the Austrian Embassy. CEO of such companies as AltexSoft, Agilites, DCT, INSART, NIX Solutions, Telesens, Verna, Videal, Rozdoum, X1 Group, Sigma Sigma Software and Web4Pro attended the meeting on the part of Kharkiv IT Cluster and IT Committee of European Business Association.
The meeting was held by Honorary Consul of Austria in Kharkiv City, Vsevolod Kozhemiako, who previously organized “Days of Ukrainian Culture in Vienna”, trips on summer holidays for children of soldiers killed in course of antiterrorist operations performance to Austria and contributed to an internship at Diplomatic Academy of students of Kharkiv Region.
At the meeting the participants discussed such possible ways of cooperation as holding joint webinars for Kharkiv and Austrian businessmen, roadshow for Ukrainian IT-companies and start-ups in Austria and Austrian businessmen in Ukraine. One of the many challenging issues being discussed was the reintroduction of Kharkiv-Vienna flight, which provided an easy transfer not only to Europe but also to America. Ms. Hermine Poppeller assured that the issue had been repeatedly discussed by Austrian airline companies. The participants have agreed that Kharkiv IT Cluster will conduct a survey of Kharkiv IT-companies and summarize the data on the number of international flights made by Kharkiv IT-specialists that will allow to demonstrate the interest of Kharkiv IT-people in flights via Vienna International Airport as one of the biggest aviahubs in Europe and Kharkiv people will have an opportunity to use it again.
Ms. Hermina Poppeller concluded:
“You have surprised me by the organization of such a meeting! I’m glad to know that IT-industry is so strong in Ukraine and in Kharkiv City. It is good news for me, and it will certainly become a pleasant discovery for many Austrians, who have not worked with Ukrainians yet. I hope that after this visit a lot of my fellow-countrymen will know about the possibility of working with you and your colleagues”.
From its part, Kharkiv IT Cluster will make every effort to develop Austro-Ukrainian relations. International Marketing Committee of Kharkiv IT Cluster is already planning several trips to Europe and Canada. We are confident that Austria will soon appear in the list of our destinations!
