
Kharkiv IT Cluster confirms its status as a leader in innovative approaches to IT industry development by initiating the creation of professional standards for the professions of “Information Technology Manager” and “Software Development Project Manager.” This initiative aims to establish a clear framework for training specialists who will meet the modern challenges of the digital economy.
Project goal
- Improving the quality of education by updating curricula following international standards and employer requirements.
- Strengthening the influence of the IT community at the state level by harmonising the National Classification of Occupations with international approaches (ISCO-08, ESCO).
- Reducing the adaptation time of newcomers to professional activity through standardisation of requirements.
- Ensuring the competitiveness of Ukrainian specialists in the global labour market.
Implementation stages
- Formation of a working group
- Analysis of labour market demands and international standards
- Determination of labour functions and competencies for each profession.
- Expert surveys and public discussions to confirm compliance of standards with market needs.
- Coordination of standards with industry organizations and inclusion in the National Register of Qualifications.
Results
- Creation of a transparent professional development system that will facilitate recruitment and talent management in companies.
- Reduction of costs for additional training of young specialists.
- Increasing the attractiveness of the Ukrainian IT industry to international investors.
