IT4Life: Over 500 Starlinks for the Frontline
IT ClusterSince the beginning of the full-scale invasion, IT4Life, with the support of partners and the Kharkiv IT Cluster community, has been actively assisting Ukrainian military forces in the conditions of a full-scale war. One of the key areas of our support is the provision of Starlinks, satellite internet systems that have become a true lifeline for our defenders on the front lines. To date, IT4Life has delivered over 500 Starlinks to Ukrainian units, ensuring reliable communication even in the most remote combat zones.
What are Starlinks, and why are they essential for the military?
Starlink is a high-speed satellite internet system that provides connectivity even in the most challenging conditions, where conventional communication networks fail or have been destroyed. In combat situations, reliable internet is not merely a matter of comfort; it’s a matter of safety and survival. Thanks to Starlinks, the military can swiftly coordinate their actions, relay intelligence, and receive crucial information in real time.
To have a constant connection means not losing yourself in the chaos of war. It’s not just a convenience; it’s the reassurance that you are heard, that you are not left alone in the face of danger. In hotspots, effective communication saves lives, allows connection with command, enables evacuation planning, and improves responsiveness to threats.
The latest Starlink delivery
The most recent delivery — three Starlinks for military unit A0224 — is for a unit that has defended us since 2014. Its divisions fought for Sloviansk and later engaged in battles across various frontlines in eastern Ukraine. In 2022, they carried out an unexpected operation for Russian forces, capturing a bridgehead that was later used by other Ukrainian Armed Forces units during the Kharkiv counteroffensive.
By caring for each soldier, IT4Life demonstrates that support goes beyond mere aid from afar — it’s about true dedication and the strength that lives in the hearts of those who help. Every Starlink delivered gives Ukrainian defenders the chance to feel they are not alone, that people are standing with them, even from a distance.
