The EO Incubators Project is a part of the USAID “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” program, which supports Ukrainian start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises. At the first stage 4 teams will be selected, then this number is planned to be increased to 30 teams in each incubator. The project site is already accepting applications – they can be submitted by May 3, and training will begin on May 20.

Representatives of Kharkiv IT Cluster companies have already presented their products and startups to USAID experts at the end of last year. In January 2019, in general, the competitive advantages of Kharkiv as an IT location were actively discussed within informational space. At the same time, USAID officials noted that the local IT sector is more perspective than other Ukrainian regions  from the point of view of the transition of IT-industry from the outsourcing model to the creation of its own products .

“The reason of this attention of USAID to the regional IT-industry was the unique fundamental scientific and technical base of Kharkiv. – said Olga Shapoval, Executive Director of Kharkiv IT Cluster. –  And today the industry continues to make sure steps to increase the number of its own products.”

She added that Kharkiv IT Cluster, as an association of key players in the industry, played a key role in the fact that the technology sector was selected to be supported and was seen as a driver for Ukraine’s competitiveness.

Today Kharkiv and Kiev are the most promising regions within the startup potential of the IT industry of Ukraine , and this fact is the apparent achievement of Kharkiv IT Cluster.
