How to Easily Work with EEN: A Guide to Key Terms
Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is an international business network that helps companies find partners abroad, develop innovations, and scale into new markets. The platform connects over 600 organizations in 60 countries worldwide. However, to maximize its potential, it’s essential to understand the key terms — which we explain in this article.
Key Terminology of the EEN Platform
To navigate the platform effectively, let’s review the main terms that will help you get oriented with ease:
1. Client
A Client is the digital card of your company on the platform — essentially, your «cabinet». It contains essential information about your company, accessible only to you and the platform moderator.
2. Contact Person
A Contact Person represents your company and acts on its behalf. This person regularly reviews collaboration requests and offers from other network clients. The contact person also interacts with the project curator to express interest in requests from other companies and, if desired, exchange contacts with platform participants.
3. Profile
A Profile is your «megaphone» on the platform. It’s how you communicate what you are seeking or offering. There are four types of profiles:
- Technology Offer — offering your technological developments.
- Technology Request — requesting technologies for your company.
- Business Offer — offering goods or services to other platform participants.
- Business Request — requesting goods, suppliers, or services.
Tip: Make your profile clear and specific to quickly attract interested and relevant partners. Be sure to use keywords.
4. Express of Interest (EoI)
An Express of Interest (EoI) is an expression of interest in a specific profile — essentially, the first step towards collaboration. When you find an interesting profile, you send an EoI by answering three questions:
- What form of collaboration interests you?
- Do you need additional information?
- A brief introduction to your company.
This process helps companies filter requests and identify the most promising partners for further cooperation.
Understanding EEN terminology helps you better grasp its opportunities and facilitates communication with other companies. The better you navigate these concepts, the faster you’ll find partners and expand your business. Use this knowledge to work effectively on the platform and achieve success in international collaboration.
