Ukraine’s defense in the context of full-scale war requires advanced technological solutions and strategic cooperation among all key actors of the defense ecosystem. This is where the Defence Community operates — a Kharkiv IT Cluster initiative that brings together tech companies, the military, educational institutions, and government representatives to develop effective solutions in security and defense.
What is the Defence Community?
Defence Community by Kharkiv IT Cluster is a strategic initiative designed to build systemic collaboration between business, academia, and government for developing, implementing, and scaling innovations in the defense sector.
The community already unites over 20 companies working on real-world solutions.
Its goal is to create an environment where technologies are not only developed, but swiftly reach those who need them most — our defenders.
GR Partnership in Action
One of the key development vectors of the Defence Community is establishing dialogue with government institutions. Community members work together to identify challenges and build transparent communication mechanisms between the state, military, and technology developers.
Defence Community Meeting: Advancing Practical Solutions
On April 16, a regular Defence Community meeting focused on practical steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
Key outcomes included agreement on priority areas of cooperation, such as
- advancing systematic training of UAV operators;
- forming a joint advocacy position for engagement with public institutions;
- identifying ways to accelerate the codification of tech solutions;
- exploring financial mechanisms and international support opportunities;
- enhancing the public presence of defense innovations through industry media.
Defence Community continues to consolidate expertise, accelerate implementation of solutions, and expand its network of partnerships — all for the common goal of strengthening Ukraine’s security.
