Family Hub: A safe children’s space has been opened in Kharkiv with the support of the Kharkiv IT Cluster.
IT ClusterSchool is more than just a place where children learn to read and write. It is a space where they discover the world, take their first steps in interacting with peers, learn to be friends, help others, and show empathy. However, today this important stage of transition to the adult world is under threat. Constant danger and anxiety deprive children of the opportunity to attend school and engage in meaningful, in-person communication.
As a result, some family members, most often women, are forced to stay with the children, limiting their participation in the economic life of the region. Under such conditions, many families face the challenge: of how to ensure quality education and development for their children while not neglecting their careers. Local initiatives, in collaboration with leading IT companies, have responded to this problem by creating a Family Hub «Happiness is Here».
Family Hub «Happiness is Here»: An Educational Space of a New Format
Family Hub «Happiness is Here» is a new educational center in Kharkiv where children can learn and develop in a safe environment. Through the cooperation of the IT4Life Charitable Foundation, Kharkiv IT Cluster, and the «Kharkiv with You» Charitable Foundation, a place was created that meets all the needs of children and their parents. The initiative was supported by companies like Ciklum and Sloboda Studio, which helped equip the space with everything necessary.
The hub functions as a safe space for both learning and leisure. It includes a kindergarten and an «anti-school» for kids, operating under the motto «Learning outside home is cool!» This format allows children, under the guidance of mentors, to join their online lessons, not in the quiet of their rooms but in the company of peers. This way, children not only have the opportunity to study but also find themselves among friends, where they can communicate, exchange knowledge, and play together.
Opportunities for Development and Socialization
The Family Hub offers children many opportunities for extracurricular development. After lessons, they can participate in various clubs: from music and art to theater. The hub also provides board games that foster communication skills and cognitive abilities. Children are not only helped to master the school curriculum but also given a full experience of socialization—something that is greatly lacking during remote learning at home.

The Family Hub «Happiness is Here» not only helps children continue their education but also creates conditions for their parents to return to work, confident that their children are safe. During wartime, this is crucial, as it contributes to the restoration of the economic potential so needed by a region undergoing trials.
