On July, the 12th in Fabrika.Space Artjoker team organized the first meetup of a Big Brain Club called JS Evening. More than 100 participants have visited the event.

Within 3 hours speakers were sharing their experience and trade secrets. Informal coffee breaks let participants network and chat over coffee and cupcakes.

The meetup goal was growing a Kharkiv tech community by holding a course of seminars assisted by skilled programmers.

What did JS Evening speakers talk about?

Sergey Tsapenko, CTO at Wookieelabs, told about work with React Native. He explained how to “reuse code” and meet the challenges which weren’t mentioned in shared documentation. His key message was next: “ It is more efficient to work with React Native than to maintain two separate bases – Android and iOS.”

Andrey Kannunikov, the javascript.ninja coach, shared his secrets on the Redux asynchronous behavior and compared pros and cons of Saga vs Thunk. The speaker shared the information in an unusual way – for example, he compared the technology to a casino.
